Reminders: Tweeting During Trend Events

Your account must be set to Public (unprotected).

You must have a minimum of 10 followers.

In your tweet use only one hashtag — the designated hashtag for the event.

It is usually not necessary to use a username/handle in your tweet (@username), it doesn’t have to be addressed to anyone. (Instructions will be provided for each trending event regarding the use of targets or @usernames.) If you happen to address it to someone @name and it has the hashtag, it will still count toward the trend.

The tweet should be a minimum of 2 words long with the designated hashtag.

A quick way of tweeting is to use Reply to or Quote a tweet (INCLUDE THE HASHTAG).

NO RETWEETS — these won’t count toward the trend.

You can Favorite tweets by using the Heart symbol — it increases morale!

Schedulers:  Try to schedule a minimum of 10 tweets in an hour, but NO MORE than 30.

Note:  Do not send more than 100 tweets in an hour.  If you exceed this limit, you will be in Twitter Jail (your account will be suspended) for 1 to 2 hours.
